Pictured above is Hamish Jamieson of Shetland accepting the constuctors
trophy for first place in World 500 GP motorcycle championship at the
Velcom racing circuit in South Africa.

Hamish is the Chief Mechanic for Gary McCoy(Australia) in the Red Bull
Yamaha team for this years Moto GP. Formely with the Lucky Strike
Suzuki team that saw Kevin Schwantz on his way to Championship victory
in the 500 class in 1993 he joined Red Bull Yamaha in 1998.
It was Hamish`s decision to opt for a 16.5" rear tyre for his riders
bike, whilst all the other riders went with a 17" tyre. Hamish commutes between Shetland and GP meetings from time to time
during the season and enjoys winter at home in Shetland.
